This Week in The Feel Better Letter ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœ… Many people develop a fear-bonded relationship with life early on, believing they're not good enough and must earn their worthiness.
โœ… When fear becomes the foundation of your relationship with life, the world can start to feel threatening, overwhelming, and full of problems.
โœ… Intrusive thoughts about God, faith, or religion don't necessarily reflect the nature of God or life. They can reflect the fear and insecurity you're carrying.
โœ… You can't build a loving relationship through fear. Real recovery means moving away from trying to earn your worthiness and learning to relate to life from a place of love, trust, and acceptance.

Matt's Message of the Week

A Fear-Bonded Life

What kind of relationship do you have with life?

Is it built on fear, or is it built on love?

For many of us, that relationship was shaped early on. We learned that we weren't good enough, that something was wrong with us, or that we had to earn our worthiness.

And when you carry that belief into adulthood, life itself can begin to feel threatening.

You start looking for what's wrong. You anticipate what could go wrong. Your mind fills with what-if questions, and even the things you care about most can become sources of fear.

This can happen with your faith, your relationships, and your sense of who you are.

But here's something important to understand: you cannot build a loving relationship through fear.

As a parent, I can't terrify my children into loving me. I might get obedience that way, but I won't create a genuine, loving connection.

The same principle applies to your relationship with life.

If you believe you have to earn your worthiness, you'll keep trying to prove that you're good enough. And fear will keep finding new reasons for you to question yourself.

The anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and other symptoms you experience may be signals that something deeper needs your attention.

Instead of spending all your energy trying to eliminate those symptoms, what if you began looking at the relationship underneath them?

What if you stopped treating life as something you have to protect yourself from and started learning to trust it?

Recovery isn't just about feeling less anxious. It's about changing how you relate to life itself.

You don't have to earn your right to be here. You don't have to become perfect to be worthy of love.

The goal is to move from a fear-bonded life to a love-bonded life.

This Weekโ€™s Reminder

You can't build a loving relationship with life by treating it as something to fear.

You don't have to earn your worthiness.

Your symptoms may be inviting you to look deeperโ€”not just at what you're feeling, but at how you're relating to life.

You can begin to let go of fear and build a relationship rooted in love, trust, and acceptance.

To your freedom and success,

Matt
